One thing I've noticed neglected about these new news posts, is the "share this" option below each post. It allows users to add the articles to places like digg, yahoo news, ect. But searching through these sites find no Newgrounds blog posts on them. Is it that people merely don't notice this option, or don't care? I think if people showed more interest in posting interesting flash-related blog posts to these larger news sites, we could spread the word and work of more Flash artists.
I'm just rambling...

I interviewed Luis for his artist of the month feature. Thought i'd mention it on this not too often viewed blog.

I personally think Newgrounds is one of the large-scale, user-friendliest sites out there. Its one of the few in which they really communicate to the community and give back to them. They give out prizes and money, and talk with many people of the Newgrounds community. This is different from other large sites, like Myspace, Youtube, ect. which just put up a site and have everyone do whatever inside it.
But I guess thats just the scheme of Newgrounds compared to other sites.

I've noticed how internet lingo like LOL, WTF and such have really developed from it being used prominently by internet nerds and chatters, to just casual phrases used by just about every web user nowadays on forums, chatrooms, ect. Most internet conversations drop a LOL every once in a while, not to sound like they are internet-savvy or just saving typing. No, it seems its become a much more casual thing on computers now.
For example, instead of it being used to shorten typing in chatting:
r0xx0rz: u r 2 1337 d00d
b0xx0rz: LOL
r0xx0rz: want 2 join my guild
b0xx0rz: GTFO n00b
Terms like LOL and others are being used in more formal internet conversation:
Joe: Hello.
Frank: What's up?
Joe: I wanted Rob to sneak out and come over to my house to watch "Rape and Murder 2: Blood n' sex Edition", but he didn't want to disobey his parents.
Frank: LOL, what a momma's boy.
Catch my drift?

Hey, check out the first volume of this magazine I made. It focuses on a different Flash Artist each week, by giving them an interview and featuring some of there work, animated or pictures. Please read it and, if you have a DeviantArt account, comment(and maybe favorite) as well. I really need some more readers for this :-P
If you know of a flash artist with a DeviantArt account, please feel free to give suggestions for an interview. Although, I have a pretty sizable list lined up already.

I've noticed a considerable increase in the number of quality flash making the top 50 in the past year or so. Its great to see all this new talent from amazing authors, but doesn't this raise another issue, won't the increase in amount of quality submissions also increase the quality standards of Newgrounds viewers?
For instance, will only the most amazing entries get noticed, while others are completely ignored? Like, suppose someone works extensively on a project for 6 months only to be completely ignored because of the release of a much larger project by someone else. I'm not saying that its completely bad, because it could root out crappier entries, but wouldn't also mean others would have to work harder and harder for their work to be even acknowledged?
Discuss.
